A man identified as Manik from Bhola district died on Wednesday after falling amid heavy crowd pressure during the funeral procession of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. The incident occurred on the west side of Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka, where a large gathering had assembled ahead of the funeral. According to eyewitnesses, congestion led to a sudden surge in the crowd, causing Manik to collapse and become critically ill. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by bystanders but was declared dead en route. The funeral drew massive public attendance as mourners accompanied the body toward Zia Udyan, with security forces deployed to manage the large crowds throughout the procession.
