Tarique Rahman says, "Former Prime Minister and national leader Begum Khaleda Zia of Bangladesh is critically ill and remains in intensive care at the hospital. Citizens from all walks of life, regardless of political affiliation, continue to sincerely pray for her recovery. The Honorable Chief Adviser has not only joined these prayers but also expressed his commitment to providing all possible medical support.
As always, the team of doctors at home and abroad are continuing to provide the highest level of professional care with utmost sincerity. Several friendly nations have also expressed their willingness to offer advanced treatment and all possible forms of assistance.
On behalf of the Zia family, we express our heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to everyone for their sincere prayers and love toward the highly revered Begum Khaleda Zia. At the same time, we earnestly request everyone to continue praying for her swift recovery.
In such a critical moment, like any child, I too have an intense longing to feel a mother’s affectionate touch. However, unlike others, I do not have unrestricted freedom or sole authority to make decisions regarding its realization. There is also limited scope to elaborate on such a sensitive matter. Our family remains hopeful that as soon as the political realities reach the expected stage, my long, anxious wait for returning to my homeland will finally come to an end."
