In Sunamganj’s Doarabazar upazila, a shocking incident unfolded within the local BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) unit when internal political rivalry turned deadly.

According to local sources, members of the BNP’s Milon group had planned to distribute campaign leaflets in the area ahead of upcoming political activities. However, before the campaign could begin, an argument reportedly broke out among the party’s own activists over leadership disputes and group dominance. The confrontation quickly escalated into physical violence, resulting in one activist being brutally beaten by his fellow party members.

The victim succumbed to his injuries shortly after the attack. Locals claim that long-standing internal conflicts between the Milon group and rival factions within the BNP had been simmering for weeks, with each side trying to assert control over party operations in Doarabazar.
Police later arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and initiated an investigation to determine those responsible.
The tragic event underscores the growing tension and factionalism within local political units as they prepare for upcoming electoral campaigns.
