According to the family and police sources of the deceased, schoolgirl Suraiya went missing from in front of her home on the afternoon of January 13. After searching for her for a long time, her grandfather, Abdul Jabbar Khan filed a general diary (GD) at Faridpur Police Station on January 16. Two days later, on Sunday morning, local farmers went to work in the field and saw a body floating in the water of the pond with its hands, feet and face tied. Later, on receiving the news, Suraiya's family members went to the spot and identified the body.
