Police recovered the hanging body of Akash Sarkar, a 10th-batch Theatre Department student at Jagannath University from Faridpur, from a mess in Old Dhaka's Bhatikhana area on January 18.
Housemate Ishtiaq found the body around 9:30pm after knocking on the door during a phone call; he had been studying nearby.
Gandaria Police sent the body to Mitford Hospital for autopsy, notified the family, and are pursuing legal steps amid initial suicide indications.
