All the necessary documents have already been sent to the Chinese government, and final discussions regarding financing have been completed, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. She made these remarks at a meeting in Nilphamari around 12:30 pm on Sunday. The advisor said that currently, an expert team of the Chinese government is examining the technical, financial and implementation framework of the Teesta Master Plan. Once the verification process is completed and final approval is received, the work on this largest development project in the country will officially begin. He further said, “If the Teesta Master Plan is implemented, there will be positive changes in agriculture, irrigation system, flood control, and ecological balance in the northern region.
