The head teacher of Ramchandradi Hafizia Madrasa in Narayanganj, Hafez Waliullah, smashed ten mobile phones with a hammer on Sunday evening for violating institutional rules that prohibit student mobile phone use. The incident took place in front of teachers and students, and a video of the act has since circulated widely on social media.

Explaining his actions, Waliullah said madrasa regulations allow confiscation and destruction of mobile phones and even expulsion if students are found using them. He added that parents are informed of the policy during admission and had previously consented to such measures.

Madrasa President Md. Musa Mia said the head teacher acted in line with institutional decisions, though a meeting has been scheduled for Saturday to review the incident. Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asadur Rahman stated that he was not yet aware of the matter and said appropriate action would be taken after reviewing the details.
