Two ninth-grade students have been accused of being raped in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali. The two girls went to Bauphal police station on Saturday night and filed a written complaint. The mother of one of the victims has filed a case in this regard. A woman has been arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the rape.
The two girls were in police custody at Bauphal Police Station last night. The two girls were sent to the Patuakhali Women and Children's Repression Prevention Court at around 9:30 am on Sunday for further legal action.
According to police and the victim's families, one of the two girls was in a relationship with a young man named Md. Anik (20). Due to the relationship, the girl's lover asked Anik to meet her. The girl went to Anik's house with one of her classmates at around 9 am on Thursday to meet him. There, Anik raped both of them. Although Anik's mother (50) was at home, she did not oppose her son's actions. Later, when the girls reported the matter to their home, Anik fled.
