The Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 2026 event has just delivered the news Z-Fighter fans have been waiting for since 2018. During a massive 40th-anniversary celebration at Japan’s Makuhari Messe, series producer Akio Iyoku confirmed that a new sequel anime, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, is officially in production.

This new series will directly follow the events of the “Universe Survival Arc” (the Tournament of Power). It will adapt the fan-favorite “Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc” from the manga, pitting Goku and Vegeta against the ancient, energy-absorbing wizard known as “Planet-Eater” Moro.

Goku and Vegeta Join the Galactic Patrol
The official teaser for the new series shows our favorite Saiyans sporting the iconic Galactic Patrol logo. This isn’t just a costume change—the story follows Goku and Vegeta as they work alongside the galaxy’s peacekeepers (including the “super-elite” Jaco) to hunt down an ancient threat that has escaped a galactic prison.

Producer Akio Iyoku shared the team’s excitement during the event, stating: “We have decided to create an anime adaptation for this story from the comics.” Masako Nozawa, the legendary voice of Goku, was also on stage to celebrate the return. While we don’t have a specific release date for The Galactic Patrol yet, production is officially underway.
