Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) member Sarba mitra Chakma has announced his resignation. He made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday (January 26) afternoon. In the Facebook post, he wrote, "I was elected by the students of Dhaka University, elected with great expectations. Since taking charge, various proposals have been made to the administration to make the entire campus safe, including the introduction of registered rickshaws on the campus and limiting vehicles on the campus. The latest issue is the Central Field, where there are not even CCTV cameras, let alone security! From harassment of female students to theft of mobile phones, wallets, and bicycles, various incidents have occurred. He further wrote, Meanwhile, female students complained that they could not play on the field because of outsiders, they were harassed. The file for the renovation of the wall adjacent to DMC was returned from the administration, while outsiders entered by climbing over that wall. Regarding the teenagers being made to sit by holding their ears, he said, the time for making them sit by holding their ears was last month, at that time the incidents of theft and robbery increased immensely, although my approach was wrong, but due to various reasons including the stagnation of the administration, I felt that it was not possible to provide security to the students on the Central Field without this strictness by suppressing outsiders. My thoughts are only about the security of Dhaka University. I have reached out in different places, alone. I have tried to find a solution, even going beyond my responsibilities
