Former Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has purchased nomination papers to contest the election from Cumilla-3 (Muradnagar) constituency.
The nomination papers were collected on December 24 by a representative on his behalf as an independent candidate, though the matter remained undisclosed until now. The information was confirmed on Saturday (December 27) by NCP Muradnagar chief coordinator Minhajul Haque, as well as officials of the Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer’s offices.According to election officials, Asif Mahmud’s current address is listed in Dhaka South City Corporation, while his permanent address is in Muradnagar. Although he earlier announced plans to contest from Dhaka-10 after resigning from his adviser post on December 10, he has yet to comment on contesting from Muradnagar.
