Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has foiled an attempted push-in of 14 Indian nationals through the Daulatpur border in Kushtia, reaffirming its firm stance against illegal cross-border movement. The incident took place around 1:00 pm on Thursday in the Madaner Ghat area of Ramkrishnapur Union, where the group was allegedly pushed toward Bangladeshi territory from the Indian side.
According to BGB and local sources, a patrol team from Ramkrishnapur BOP under Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB), with assistance from nearby residents, intercepted the group approximately 60 yards from Border Pillar 157/1-S. The individuals included six men, four women, and four children from the same family. BGB immediately lodged a protest, leading to a flag meeting with India’s Border Security Force (BSF).
The flag meeting was held at the Chaidoba border, around 10 yards inside Indian territory, where identities were verified. After confirmation that all 14 individuals were Indian nationals, the BSF took them back into custody, ending the situation peacefully. BGB reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the border and preventing illegal infiltration and cross-border crimes.
