On Monday (December 22), miscreants shot Motaleb Sikder in the head near Gazi Medical College Hospital in Sonadanga around 11:45 am before fleeing the scene. Local residents rescued him and rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was later taken to Sheikhpara City Imaging Centre for a CT scan of his head.
OC (Investigation) Animesh Mondal said, “After Motaleb was shot by miscreants, people at the scene rescued him and initially took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital. Later, when a scan became necessary, he was brought to the City Imaging Centre.”
Motaleb Sikder serves as the Khulna divisional chief of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and is also a central organizer of the party’s Workers’ Power wing. The incident has sparked concern over the safety of political figures, raising questions about targeted attacks and the overall security situation in the country.
