The hanging body of a National Citizens Party (NCP) leader has been recovered from a student hostel in Jigatola in the capital. Her name is Jannat Ara Rumi (30).
Jannat Ara Rumi was the joint coordinator of Dhanmondi Police Station NCP. Her body was recovered this Thursday morning. Her home is in Patnitala, Naogaon. Her father's name is Zakir Hossain.
NCP Central Joint Member Secretary Tarek Reza said in a Facebook post that Jannat Ara Rumi committed suicide due to threats and cyberbullying from the banned Awami League. In that post, he wrote, "This is not suicide, it is murder."
