On the occasion of Great Victory Day, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's youth wing organized a Victory Marathon starting at 7 AM from Sohrawardy Udyan in the capital. The event passed through Shahbag, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Science Lab, and Kalabagan, concluding at Manik Mia Avenue. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman led the marathon, with hundreds of youths participating.
The marathon aimed to reaffirm commitment to the 1971 victory legacy and national rights protection. Similar events were reported nationwide to inspire patriotism among the youth.
The event concluded peacefully amid mixed social media reactions. While some praised it as a revival of Victory Day spirit, others opposed it. Jamaat youth leaders described it as a firm pledge to independence and justice.
