Ghaziabad Police Arrest 10 Members After Viral Video Shows Swords Distributed “For Self-Defence”
According to multiple Indian media reports, police registered a case after footage emerged of Hindu Raksha Dal workers handing out swords outside their office in the Shalimar Garden area of Ghaziabad, allegedly urging people to arm themselves in the context of “attacks on Hindus” in Bangladesh.
Investigators say 10 members of the outfit were arrested and several swords were seized, while more accused have been named in the FIR under sections related to unlawful assembly and promoting enmity.
Reports further add that the organisation’s leader Pinky Chaudhary has been booked as a key accused, with police claiming the arrested men told them he procured the weapons and instructed them to distribute the swords that were later seen in the viral videos.
