To further strengthen border security and enhance the operational capabilities of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rangpur Region Commander Brigadier General ASM Nasher inaugurated the Chaturbari BOP on the Lalmonirhat border. On Thursday afternoon, Brigadier General ASM Nasher, Commander of the North-West Region, inaugurated the camp in Jongra Union of the upazila under Teesta Battalion-61 BGB. The BGB said that the Teesta Battalion has been performing its duties in the nearly 200-kilometer border area of the north-western region of the country. However, there was an operational gap in the area between the two BOPs of Dhawalguri and Kharijajongra, which required the establishment of a new BOP to control smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal infiltration.
