A young man named Muntasir Fahim (22) was stabbed to death with a sharp weapon at the Government Nazrul Academy ground in Trishal, Mymensingh. His friend Ahidul Islam (22) has been charged with murder. The incident took place at around 8:45 pm on Thursday.
The deceased, Muntasir Fahim, is the son of Badal Mia of Chikna Manohar village in Trishal Union. The accused, Ahidul Islam, is the son of Zahirul Islam of Darirampur village in Trishal Municipality.
According to police sources, Ahidul Islam appeared at the police station at around 9 pm yesterday with a 'Chinese axe' in his hand. He told the police, 'Fahim ruined my life, so I hacked him to death with a Chinese axe.' After hearing this, the police arrested him. Based on the information, the police went to the Trishal Government Nazrul Academy School grounds. Fahim's body was found lying next to the water tank on the eastern side of the grounds. Later, the police recovered the body and took it to the police station.
