Fozlur Rahman, a decorated freedom fighter, former Member of Parliament, and current member of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s advisory council, is facing a serious legal challenge after making controversial remarks on a national television talk show.
During the broadcast, while discussing the trial of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at an international tribunal (likely referring to a potential or hypothetical future trial), Mr. Rahman reportedly stated: "I do not accept this tribunal, nor do I accept the judgment of this tribunal."
These outspoken and indiscreet comments (befas montobyo) have drawn the ire of the judiciary, leading to a formal contempt of court case being filed against him. The court holds that his statement undermines judicial authority and the due process of law.
