A mild earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was felt in the Baipail area of Gazipur at 10:36:12 am on Saturday, 22 November 2025. This tremor occurred before the effects of a stronger earthquake in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, were fully subsided. The epicenter of this mild quake was about 29 kilometers from Dhaka, near Baipail, between Gazipur and Savar.

The more powerful earthquake in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, took place the previous day, measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale, causing significant damage and casualties in that district and nearby areas. It resulted in at least 10 deaths and over 150 injuries, along with structural damages across multiple upazilas and parts of Dhaka city. The epicenter of that quake was about 13 kilometers east of the Agargaon Seismic Centre in Dhaka.The mild quake in Baipail was confirmed by Nizam Uddin Ahmed, a professional assistant at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department's Earthquake Observation and Research Center, who provided the timing and magnitude details.

No major damage has been reported from the 3.3 magnitude tremor in Baipail so far.The recent series of quakes highlights the seismic activity affecting central Bangladesh, particularly around the Dhaka region and its neighboring districts like Gazipur and Narsingdi
