In a daring robbery attempt in Magura’s Shreepur upazila, three robbers tried to snatch a woman’s gold chain and money at gunpoint on the evening of November 19 near Kodla. The woman, an NGO worker from BRAC, was riding her motorcycle from Langalbadh Bazar to Amalsar when the assailants blocked her path and attempted to steal her chain and bag.

Acting in self-defense, she punched one of the attackers, causing another to drop his pistol. Her cries alerted nearby locals, who rushed to help, forcing the robbers to flee. Despite escaping with her gold chain and a bag containing 15–16 thousand taka, the attackers left behind the firearm.

Police later recovered the weapon and are examining its authenticity. Shreepur Police have launched an operation to identify and arrest the suspects involved
