A Jubo Dal leader, Golam Kibria, member secretary of the party’s Pallabi thana unit, was shot dead this evening in Dhaka’s Pallabi area.
The incident took place around 6:40 pm near Block C, where armed assailants entered a hardware store and opened fire on him.
CCTV footage shows three helmeted attackers walking into the shop moments before the shooting. They fired multiple shots and fled immediately after.
Kibria’s body was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue.
Police have confirmed the killing, and one suspect has been detained as part of the ongoing investigation, said DMP Mirpur Division Deputy Commissioner Maksedur Rahman.
The motive behind the attack remains under inquiry.
