In Savar, a bus of Alif Paribahan parked near Birulia embankment was torched around 10:45pm in Battala area, said Md Wahab, sub-inspector and in-charge of the Birulia police outpost under Savar Model Police Station.He said the bus owner, Amjad Hossain, had driven the vehicle himself and left it in front of the construction site when miscreants set it on fire and fled.Amjad said he had parked the vehicle near the gate at around 8:30pm and returned home for dinner. Local residents later extinguished the blaze using buckets of water and sand, but the bus was completely burnt.
In Chattogram, a passenger bus was torched in Patenga area early today, while the signboard of the Metropolitan Sadar Circle Land Office in Chatteshwari area was also set on fire.
The incidents occurred between 1:40am and 3:00am.
