Enamul Haque Molla, a former Chhatra Dal leader, fled the country in 2017 following various legal cases and settled in Saudi Arabia. He identified himself there as a BNP leader from the Makkah Misfalah area.
Recently, he returned to Bangladesh, arriving directly in his local area via helicopter from the airport, where he was given a public reception. Following this high-profile return, he began campaigning heavily for the position of MP candidate, putting up numerous posters in the area.
Reports also emerged that he became involved in various criminal activities.
Today, a joint forces operation was carried out, which resulted in the arrest of Enamul Haque Molla and several of his associates. They were apprehended, and the forces reportedly seized two foreign pistols along with them.
