The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3) has arrested two men accused of robbing a college student at knifepoint in the Malibagh area of Dhaka. The incident took place around 6:45 a.m. on October 24, when Nure Alam Rifat (23) was attacked and robbed of his iPhone and Tk 7,500 while leaving home for his village.
Following a case filed at Shahjahanpur Police Station, RAB tracked down the suspects using CCTV footage and conducted successful raids in Khilgaon and Shahjahanpur on October 27.
The arrested men are Md. Sujon (30) from Cumilla and Md. Saiful Islam (24) from Sherpur. RAB recovered the rickshaw used in the crime and a mobile phone believed to be the stolen device. Officials confirmed that Sujon is a notorious mugger with four prior cases under his name.
