After enduring 97 harrowing days of treatment and 36 major surgeries, 13-year-old Navid Nawaz, a student of Milestone School and College, has finally returned home a living testament to resilience and medical determination. Severely burned in the July 21 Milestone jet crash that claimed at least 35 lives and injured over 150 others, Navid fought through unimaginable pain, spending 22 days in the ICU, including 10 on life support, followed by weeks in recovery.
Doctors at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery described his survival as “nothing short of a miracle.” Professor Nasir Uddin recalled Navid pleading, “Please save me, will I survive?” words that still haunt the medical team who battled to save him.
Navid’s father, Mizanur Rahman, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses who refused to give up, requesting prayers from the nation for his son’s full recovery and for all victims of the tragedy. Five other survivors remain hospitalised but are now in stable condition.
