Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced a groundbreaking development: Diella, the world's first AI-generated minister, is "pregnant" with 83 digital children or "virtual assistants." Each AI assistant will be assigned to Socialist Party members of parliament to monitor legislative sessions and keep MPs informed of any missed discussions or events. Rama stated the system will be fully operational by 2026.
Diella, meaning "Sun," was appointed in September to oversee public procurement and improve transparency in government tenders. Since January, she has been supporting citizens and businesses via the e-Albania platform.
