Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12) has arrested the prime suspect in the alleged rape of a teenager at a fast-food shop in Kamarkhand, Sirajganj, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four. The matter was disclosed at a press conference at the RAB-12 headquarters on Thursday (October 23). The 21-year-old suspect, a resident of Char Kamarkhand village, was arrested during a raid in the Zierkandi area of Titas Thana, Cumilla district, early Tuesday (October 22).
At the press conference, RAB-12 Deputy Commander Ahsan Habib stated, “He was absconding since the filing of the case over the teenager’s rape. Later, his location was identified using information technology. He was then detained during an operation in the Titas area of Cumilla district.”
According to the case file, the victim, a 7th-grade madrasha student, was allegedly abducted by 5-6 youths in a CNG on Sunday (October 19) after leaving her madrasha to buy a pen. She was taken to the Dera Fast Food & Chinese Restaurant in the Jamtoil Bazar area, where the assault occurred. It is alleged that the others accused played loud music to muffle her screams. The accused later left the victim at a hospital, and her family filed a case against seven individuals on Monday evening.
