Muhammadpur Preparatory School in Dhaka was targeted in a petrol bomb attack early Tuesday night, sparking fear among local residents but causing no injuries. The incident took place around 12:04 a.m. on Iqbal Road when four unknown assailants on two motorcycles threw two petrol bombs at the school before fleeing.

Police reported that two riders and two passengers participated in the attack. The passengers lit the petrol bombs and hurled them at the school building in quick succession before escaping. The resulting explosions caused brief flames near the school but did not inflict any major damage or harm anyone.

CCTV footage shows the motorcycles arriving and pausing briefly in front of the school. The riders wore helmets, while the passengers wore masks and caps. One masked man dismounted, ignited the bombs, and threw them at the school before rejoining his accomplices.

Officer-in-Charge Kazi Rafiqul Ahmed of Mohammadpur Police Station confirmed, “Two petrol bombs were thrown at the school, but fortunately no injuries occurred. Police arrived soon after and began investigating.”Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers and uncover the motive. Investigators believe the attack aimed to spread fear amid a recent rise in sabotage attempts in Dhaka.
