A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member, Nayek Md. Akhtar Hossain, who was critically injured in a landmine blast at the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Bandarban, has been brought to Dhaka for treatment. He suffered severe injuries, including the loss of one foot up to the ankle and serious injury to the other foot. He was initially treated at the Ramu Combined Military Hospital before being airlifted to Dhaka for further care. Akhtar Hossain was stationed at the Reju Amtali Border Outpost (BOP) under the Cox's Bazar Battalion (34 BGB) and was injured in a mine blast during patrol duty in the Tambru area of Naikhongchhari Upazila at the border. The landmine incident reflects ongoing border security risks from explosives planted in the area amid regional conflicts
