Khaled Saifullah, the manager of Janata Bank's Pakshi branch in Ishwardi, Pabna, has gone missing along with Tk 1.3 crore. He has been unreachable since he left with the money on Sunday afternoon, October 5. Following the incident, the bank authorities filed a general diary (GD) with the Ishwardi police.
Khaled Saifullah, 45, son of Abdul Gafur Sheikh from Hospital Road in Ishwardi municipality, had informed the bank officials on Saturday that he would need Tk 1.3 crore. He collected the cash from the Ishwardi corporate branch on Sunday morning and set out for the Pakshi branch accompanied by Ansar member Mahbub and driver Ismail Hossain. However, he never arrived at the branch, and his phone has been switched off since then.
Police are currently investigating the matter and have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken.
