North South University (NSU) authorities have announced a lifetime ban and initiated legal action against student Apurba Pal following allegations of desecrating the Holy Qur'an on campus. This decision comes amid widespread outrage among students and the general public, with protests continuing at the NSU premises on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Apurba Pal was attacked by angry students and local residents in the Bashundhara residential area. Following the attack, the student was detained by authorities and hospitalized. The police have confirmed that legal procedures are currently underway to address the situation.

In response to the incident, NSU officials urged all students to remain calm and avoid any further unrest on campus. The university called for peace and restraint among its community members as the matter is being handled legally and internally to maintain order.
