Protest rallies and a blockade were held in Noakhali demanding the district be declared a separate administrative division. After Friday’s Jumu'ah prayers, demonstrators gathered at Maijdee Jame Mosque and marched through the main streets of Noakhali town. The rally concluded with a blockade in front of the town’s Super Market, causing traffic disruptions and closing shops for about an hour.
People from diverse backgrounds and political affiliations took part in the protests, making this the second consecutive day of demonstrations. The participants called for urgent government action to recognize Noakhali as an division, reflecting widespread local support for the demand.
