A disturbing incident took place in Dhaka’s Farmgate on September 30th when Abu Ahmad was caught secretly filming two female students of Asia Pacific University (UAP). The students noticed Ahmad taking photos near the campus gate and confronted him. Other students quickly intervened, dragged him inside the campus, and informed faculty members. Before police arrived, Ahmad was forced to apologize publicly and perform squats as humiliation, a video of which went viral online. Tejgaon Police Station OC Mobarak Hossain confirmed Ahmad’s detention and said police recovered several photos and videos of female students from his phone. He is set to be produced before court on October 1st. The victims expressed concern over campus safety, urging stricter security to prevent such incidents, noting that similar cases had occurred in the past. Legal proceedings against Ahmad are currently underway.
