Nasrin Jahan, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, announced that St. Martin’s Island will reopen for tourists from November 1 and remain accessible until February.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday marking World Tourism Day, she said that up to 2,000 tourists will be allowed to visit the island daily. However, for the first two months, visitors will have to return the same day. Overnight stays will only be permitted in January and February.

Sheikh Basir Uddin, Aviation and Tourism Adviser, added that policy frameworks for the tourism sector are being developed. “With overall improvements, the tourism industry will move forward,” he said.
