Bangladesh Bank has issued a statement warning against the refusal to use 1 and 2 taka coins, calling it a violation of existing laws.
In a press release issued on Wednesday (September 15) by the Department of Communications and Publications (DCP), the central bank noted that some people in different parts of the country have recently shown reluctance to accept or use 1 and 2 taka coins in transactions.
The statement clarified that all forms of metal coins, along with paper notes, are legal tender in Bangladesh. The central bank urged the public to accept and use these coins in all cash transactions.
