A Khulna University student was killed and 12 others were injured as a jeep carrying tourists plunged into a roadside ditch at Sajek, a popular tourist spot, in Baghaichari upazila of Rangamati district today (17 September).
The deceased was identified as Rubina Afsana Rinki, hailed from Gaibandha district.
The jeep carrying 12 students and a teacher of Khulna University plunged into the roadside ditch as its drive lost control over steering while coming down from the hill around 2pm, leaving Rubina dead and 12 others injured, said Kanan Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Sajek police station.
