A 40-year-old man, Md Mansur Ahmad Bahar from Noakhali, was beaten to death by a mob in Feni Sadar upazila early Sunday.
Locals alleged that Mansur tried to steal a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from a house in Madhyam Lakshmipur village around 3:30am. When caught, he was brutally assaulted and died on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Feni Sadar General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Authorities confirmed that legal action will be taken regarding the incident.
