Dhaka University is leaving no stone unturned as it prepares for the highly anticipated Ducsu elections, with full-scale arrangements announced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan. After 11 months of meticulous planning, overcoming logistical and administrative challenges, the university is now entering the final stage of the electoral process. This year, approximately 40,000 students will exercise their voting rights across a record 810 polling booths, compared to just 200–250 in previous elections, marking a significant expansion in participation.
Security has been heightened across campus, with proctorial teams, BNCC cadets, volunteer groups, and law enforcement officers all actively engaged to ensure a smooth, safe, and transparent voting process. The elections are designed not only to fulfill students’ demands and aspirations but also to uphold the values of the historic mass uprising and encourage collaboration among all stakeholders. Journalists will also play a vital role in maintaining accountability throughout the process.
To further ensure safety, carrying firearms on campus will be strictly prohibited for everyone except authorized law enforcement personnel from 8–10 September. With national attention focused on Dhaka University, authorities remain confident that these comprehensive measures will allow the Ducsu polls to proceed fairly, transparently, and successfully.
