The death toll from the New Baneshwar clash in Kathmandu has reached six after violent confrontations between Gen Z protesters and police. Four protesters died at the National Trauma Centre, while two others died at Civil Hospital. The clashes escalated when protesters breached the restricted zone and entered the Parliament premises. Police used water cannons, tear gas, and live ammunition to disperse the crowds, leaving many injured, including those with serious bullet wounds being treated at various hospitals. The protests are mainly driven by demands to end corruption and lift the government ban on several social media platforms. Following the violence, a curfew was imposed in several parts of Kathmandu, and demonstrations spread to other cities across Nepal
