Last week, Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. (retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced that Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Md. Nazmul Karim Khan will be served a show-cause notice for causing public inconvenience by blocking roads during his daily commute between Dhaka and Gazipur. The notice follows reports that during his commute, College Gate flyover in Tongi was made one-way, closing the Gazipur-to-Dhaka lane, and the Bhogra flyover in Gazipur was also made one-way, blocking traffic heading towards Gazipur. These measures caused significant hardship to commuters and the general public.
