Dhaka, 1 September 2025 — Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus today called on General Wakar-Uz-Zaman, Chief of the Army Staff, to establish a clearly defined command structure and foster close coordination among the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other security personnel in preparation for the national elections targeted for early February 2026. Yunus reiterated his commitment to delivering a historic election marked by high voter turnout, broad participation—including new and women voters—and strong global confidence in its safety and democratic integrity.
During the meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna, General Wakar-Uz-Zaman pledged full support to maintain law and order throughout the election period. He also urged the Chief Adviser not to be swayed by rumors, emphasising that “the entire Army is committed to making the government successful in all its initiatives and programs”
