Clashes once again shook Chittagong University, as students and local residents engaged in violent confrontations near Gate 2 in Jobra village on Sunday afternoon. The unrest began around 11:30 am, when several hundred students and locals faced off, chanting slogans against one another.
By 12:05 pm, tensions escalated into brick-throwing, leaving at least 10 injured, including Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Kamal Uddin. Other senior officials, including Professor Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan and Proctor Tanvir Mohammad Haider Arif, attempted to mediate but failed to control the violence.
Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos, with injured students bleeding from head wounds, while law enforcement was notably absent from the scene.
