Officers searched her home in Nazareth before detaining her for questioning. Zoabi’s lawyer condemned the arrest as unlawful and politically motivated, blaming far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for turning the case into a media spectacle that undermines fundamental rights. Zoabi, who was a parliament member from 2009 to 2019, is widely known for her vocal criticism of Israel’s discriminatory treatment of Palestinians.
