Dengue infections and deaths are increasing in the country. Today, Sunday, the highest number of deaths in dengue in a single day this year has been recorded. According to the daily report of the Department of Health, 12 people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours (from 8 am yesterday Saturday to 8 am today). Five of them died in Barisal division. With this, the total number of deaths in the country this year due to this Aedes mosquito-borne disease has reached 179. And so far, 41,831 people have been infected.
According to the report of the Directorate General of Health, 740 new patients have been admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours. Of these, 444 are men and 296 are women. At the same time, 683 patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.
