Home Affairs Adviser Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced rewards for the recovery of weapons looted from various police stations during the recent student-led uprising. The reward amounts include BDT 50,000 for pistols and shotguns, BDT 100,000 for Chinese rifles, BDT 150,000 for SMGs, BDT 500,000 for LMGs, and BDT 500 for each bullet. The adviser assured that the identities of those providing information about the looted weapons would be kept confidential as authorities work to recover as many weapons as possible before the upcoming election.

In addition to the weapon recovery efforts, the adviser highlighted a rise in recruitment and admission-related corruption. He emphasized that anyone providing valuable information about such corrupt practices would also be rewarded. These measures aim to curb illegal activities and promote transparency within government systems, especially ahead of the election period.

The adviser further noted that despite ongoing efforts, complete eradication of drug issues has not been achieved. He stressed that the success of the forthcoming election will largely depend on the cooperation of political parties and the public in maintaining law and order. Authorities remain committed to addressing these challenges to ensure a peaceful and fair election environment.
