Content Creator Tawhid Afridi Arrested in July Massacre Case
Tawhid Afridi, a content creator and son of MyTV MD Nasir Uddin Sathi, was arrested from Barishal late Sunday night (24 August) by the DB Police in connection with a murder case filed at Jatrabari Police Station over the anti-discrimination movement.
According to reports, a special investigative team from the CID carried out the operation in Barishal and took Afridi into custody. He is listed as the 11th accused in the case.
The case, which involves the anti-discrimination student movement, names former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the main accused, with former Minister of Railways Obaidul Quader as the second accused, and former Police IGP Abdullah Al Mamun as the third.
Tawhid Afridi’s father, MyTV Chairman Nasir Uddin Sathi, is the 22nd accused in the same case and was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) on 17 August.
In total, 25 individuals along with 150 unknown persons have been accused in this high-profile murder case.
