DUCSU and Hall Elections: Chhatra Dal Yet to Announce Panel
Voting for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall elections will be held on September 9. The deadline for collecting nomination forms ended today, Tuesday, August 18, at 4:00 PM.
While most student organizations, including Chhatra Shibir, collected nomination forms and announced their panels on the final day, Chhatra Dal was unable to finalize its panel. Although its candidates have collected nomination forms, the organization has not announced any panel or final decision.
According to sources, the deadline for submitting nomination forms is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, and Chhatra Dal may announce its panel on the same day. A press conference is expected to be held for the official announcement.
Earlier today, Abidul Islam Abid, Organizational Secretary of the branch Chhatra Dal, along with a limited number of party members, collected nomination forms from the Returning Officer’s office after 3:00 PM. Speaking to reporters, he said the party’s panel has not yet been finalized and candidates have been instructed to collect nomination forms individually according to party directives.
