National Security Adviser Briefs Diplomats on Upcoming International Conference on Rohingya Crisis
National Security Adviser (NSA) and High Representative of the Chief Adviser on Rohingya Issues, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, has announced that an international conference on the Rohingya crisis, under the initiative of the United Nations, will be held on 30 September. The Cox’s Bazar event will serve as part of the preparatory process for a larger UN-led global conference.
According to Dr. Rahman, the conference presents a major opportunity to chart a roadmap toward a sustainable and genuine solution to the Rohingya crisis, both for the displaced community and for the international community at large.
Ahead of this, on 25 August, Cox’s Bazar will host an international conference titled “Stakeholder Dialogue: Messages for the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Situation”.
On Sunday morning in Dhaka, the NSA briefed foreign diplomats about the initiative, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the Rohingya community. He urged strong international participation in the upcoming event. The briefing was attended by heads and representatives of various countries and international organizations based in Bangladesh.
