No Program Held in Tungipara on Mujib's 50th Death Anniversary Amid Tight Security
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthplace, Tungipara, was placed under a heavy security blanket on Friday, as no events were held to mark the 50th death anniversary on 15 August.
Security was heightened from Thursday night, with law enforcement agencies imposing stricter measures the following day. Leaders and activists of the banned terrorist organization Awami League and its affiliated bodies were notably absent, reportedly remaining in hiding. No political figures were seen at the mausoleum, and no commemorative programs were organized.
